How To Avoid Spam Comments

For many bloggers the attribute "NoFollow" seemed to be a solution against spam comments,for a time... It has been proposed by Google  but was not followed by all search engines because for some of them is still a question if this attribute is really effective!

A priori, I would say no. Thinking that  not followed links will not attract more spammers of all kinds, all blog platforms by default are parameterized so as not to follow links to sensitive parts: comments, trackbacks and link lists. But the plague was not eradicated, the spam comments still exist.

More than that,a lot of  blog owners are complain they don't recieve to many comments on their blogs,while the need to get as many comments on the blog is overwhelming...

The "NoFollow" links interest anybody and what is the interest of sharing, participate or discuss a topic if our names and links are not even seen by search engines? None, whatsoever for the blog owner, readers or stakeholders.

If you want to encourage people to join your blog and post relevant content to tolerate the displayed links followed by search engines, it is also the principle of the blog. It will also be beneficial, because the people who participate will return more regularly and they will be more active on your blog through their own promotion.

We saw the security aspect and now you know how to effectively protect against spam comments. Now you can remove the "NoFollow" attribute from your blog platform (Blogger,Wordpress,...) and  install the "DoFollow" plugin for your blog.

Give to your reviewers the opportunity to leave links in their comments which will be followed by search engines and will serve you for a better indexing.
